Kicking Things Off

Over the last few months, I’ve had the unusual privilege of working closely with my mother as we have planned this blog and the release of the 25th anniversary edition of her classic book, The Way Home. I consider Mary Pride to be one of the smartest, most perceptive people I know, and I always enjoy being able to learn from her. It has been an especial honor to write a new preface to this edition, geared to the world the women of my generation face.

This blog is going to be our sandbox. We are going to discuss how to live as godly women who think hard and get our hands dirty in a messy world. We will wrestle with issues both of marriage and of singlehood.

As we do this, we know already we aren’t always going to agree. And that’s okay, so long as we are bowing before God and seeking the Bible intently, willing to learn.

I have a passion for us women to exercise our minds with vigor and to live courageously. I want us to submit to Christ in everything with full knowledge, so that we understand when and why to submit to others — and in what circumstances to step up and lead. On this blog, I want to write about everything from current events to our culture to theological doctrines. It’s going to be fun.

Love,

Sarah

Great book! Wish all women would read it.

I can relate to this post, as my daughter thinks I’m the smartest woman ever! Seriously, though, your Mom’s book had a HUGE, HUGE impact on me and I’m glad to see that the two of you are working to keep it available.
