HALO Village is a proposed 40 acre supportive housing campus in Kansas City developed by The HALO Foundation — a nationally recognized nonprofit that has served homeless and at-risk youth in Kansas City since 2005. The Village would serve as a holistic healing environment for vulnerable youth ages 0–24, including new mothers, pregnant youth, transitional young adults, and children in high-risk situations.
The campus is designed around the belief that healing happens in community. Rather than offering shelter alone, HALO Village integrates transitional homes, nature-based amenities, educational programming, and a multipurpose community building — creating the conditions for long-term stability and transformation.
HALO currently serves 600+ youth annually through its Kansas City Learning Center, providing life skills, education, employment support, and meal programs. Additionally, HALO provides housing through a Boy's Home and Girls Home on the property. With over 6,000 youth experiencing homelessness in Kansas City each year, HALO Village represents a generational investment in the region's most vulnerable residents.
The concept site plan envisions a phased campus development including a new mothers home, transitional homes for young men and women, 20 tiny homes, a multipurpose building, and extensive outdoor amenities including an orchard, community garden, nature healing trails, and an expanded pond with dock. The design prioritizes dignity, safety, and connection to the natural environment.
